During my usual procrastination time (happens between 0 and 24 o’clock everyday) i stumbled upon an article in The Escapist.
An upcoming (and probably released by the time you’re not reading this) team based online shooter “Brink” will have 102 quadrillion characters. That is, you can make that many if only slightly different guys.
Some people, however, are distressed that it’s only guys. Yep, this first person shooter, set in the future where security forces and rebels are fighting for resources in a floating city that might house the last of humanity, won’t let you kill females.
Well, of course, they could have made females, even if that would could down possible characters to a somewhat shamefull 200 million.
But this thread got so much sand about it in their vaginas (and other asorted body parts)…there are people saying that they won’t buy the game because you can’t be a female in it. Wow, you bleeding heart loosers.
Of course, with a game with THAT MUCH customisation it might be hurtfull for females not to get even one player model. But that’s just it - because there are only males they can go wild with male models and do what they want.
And if you can’t play a character of another sex, well, tough shit. You may have some problems. I was never against playing females in games (Jade’s green ass can bounce around my screen any day). Sure, I might have played a female only once when there was a choice to be made (I finished Jedi Academy at least 3 times as a yellow, barely clothed female Twi’Lek) in it, but that’s because i don’t know how to play females. And hulking space marine fantasies are easier to do when you’re bursting with testosterone.
Would I play a game if there were 102 quadrilion character choices, but all of them were females?
Of course I would. I’d be the sexiest goth chick with a gasmask in town.
